So I have been coffee-less now for 2 days, have slept between 8-9 hours a night for the past 5 nights, haven't killed myself in the gym since last week, and have been squeaky clean with my diet...
...and yet, this morning I still woke up feeling like I had been up all night.SO FRUSTRATING!!
Apparently, when you survive on stress, adrenalin, and caffeine for extended periods of time it actually takes some time to get things back in order (laaaame)!

...an idea came to me.
I had done it before last year when I had some stress issues and some shoulder problems and it helped on both counts!
What is acupuncture? Well, according to the Mayo Clinic:
Acupuncture involves the insertion of extremely thin needles in your skin at strategic points on your body. Acupuncture originated in China thousands of years ago, but over the past three decades its popularity has grown significantly within the United States.
Traditional Chinese theory explains acupuncture as a technique for balancing the flow of energy or life force — known as qi or chi (chee) — believed to flow through pathways (meridians) in your body. By inserting needles into specific points along these meridians, acupuncture practitioners believe that your energy flow will re-balance.
So, I gave my trusty acupuncturist a call, and took a lovely needled nap during my lunch break.
When I came into her office I explained that I was completely exhausted, anxious, lethargic, and hungry! I told her that I'd given up caffeine, that I was sleeping 8-9 hours a night, but nothing seemed to help, and I was always hungry!!
Y'all, I can't say that i'm 100% better, but after my 40 minute needled nap sesh, I can tell you that I feel TONS better!! I feel like I have more energy, I'm not famished or anxious, and I actually regained some ability to focus. Overall, I'm not feeling burnt out anymore!!
Since I "slept" through lunch, I picked up some Protein Bar on my way back to the office:

blue cheese, dried cranberries, diced tomatoes, and our house-made Balsamic Flax Vinaigrette dressing chopped with our Super 6 Salad Mix
I crossed out the items I didn't end up putting on my salad, and I also ended up adding cucumber and avocado. I chased it all down with a Gingerade Kombucha.
I seriously cannot get over how much better I feel! I know I still have a little ways to go until I'm feelin' like my usual 100% self, but the acupuncture session today definitely helped tip the scale back in the right direction!
In the spirit of having more energy, I'm finally going to do my Hot Chocolate 5k Race recap!! (I'll keep it brief and full of photos, after all it is Friday ;) )

I ended up running the race at an 8:01 min/mi average pace! That, my friends, is haulin' it for LilB. My fastest race last season I ran in an 8:05 min/mi pace...so I set a new PR!!!!
After reuniting with my awesome cousin, SDubs, after the race, we opted to skip the mediocre hot chocolate and fondue tents and went straight to brunch with Brother B!
SDubs and I were definitely craving omelets and NOT chocolate after running!
...but I DID save this guy for dessert!!
It was perfection!! Dark chocolate with sea salt and roasted almonds -- definitely my FAVORITE combo!
